TIS Magazine 2020

be the most significant for me and in each individual’s day. This is simply because it’s the only time in the day where we are given entire freedom to completely relax and dedicate time to our personal interests aside from during the weekends. Therefore, the joy and comfort you experi- ence during that period of time is what I wanted to replicate through this show. ALBIE : Seeing as this is your first concert, how difficult was the preparation, getting the tickets, etc? HERMAN : It was a very insightful experi- ence which gave me the opportunity to learn a lot of the technicalities involved in hosting your own concert. From the stage set up to the light and sounds to special fx, to inviting and finding ways to further promote the show and most importantly, the importance as well as significance of collaboration as I had to cope with the wide variety of people involved in the production process from start to finish. In addition, the project still continues as in partnership with my CAS project in school, proceeds from my show are being used for the refurbishing of the dormitories at ‘Christ Faith Foster Home’ in Frafraha. ALBIE : Were you intimidated by the other concerts that happened last year December, eg. Detty Rave and Afronation, Crusade? HERMAN : Well not necessarily because I was well aware of the hard work I had been investing in the show therefore with trust in God and my management team, I knew the show would have been distinct and impactful to all those who attended regardless of the other big shows that were hosted around the time. Long story short no I wasn’t intimated neither was I overconfident- just hopeful that all would go as planned. ALBIE: After collaborating with Sarkodie, which other artiste do you wish to work with? HERMAN: I’m inspired by and would love to work with a wide variety of artiste both in Ghana and globally. To name a few Billie Eilish, Burna Boy and local stars such as King Promise, Mr. Eazi, Kuami Eugene, etc. there are a whole lot more of them but at the end of the day I give them all equal amounts of respect and I’m open to collaboration. I try not to be too picky lol, it’s honestly just down to whether or not I genuinely feel the music or song in question. 41 |
