TIS Magazine 2020

Dear Diary, Have you ever found yourself in a positionwhere you have people looking up to you to deliver something extravagant? Well, that’s how I felt weeks ago. Chocolate friendship day is the day when students can demonstrate their love for each other through gift and chocolate exchanges and ev- eryone can eat as many chocolates as they want without thinking twice about their health. This year, I decided to take charge because the pro- gram was linked to my CAS project, heart attack awareness “be the beat”. I know it sounds a bit odd, selling chocolates even though it can cause diabetes and other problems. However, studies have shown that eating chocolates once a day, reduces the likelihood of even developing any heart disease. Everyone who had taken charge in the previous chocolate friendship day planning prepared me for the ride I was about to go on, but believe me, you can never cross a bridge until you get there. As usu- al, every ride has its ups and downs and there were more than enough both of those during the preparations. There were good days when I ate so many chocolates I couldn’t even stand the sight or thought of them, and bad days where I felt as though I had the entire TIS on my shoulders. However, in the end, it all worked out the way I envisioned it. Everyone woke up to find their bags of chocolates with excitement and curiosity. But , if you thought that was the end, you’re sorely mistaken! We had our very own Love island festival for entertainment, where everyone gath- ered around the garden to enjoy a series of events that we had planned. The red candles, balloons, food and music all helped create the boo’d up environment we hope for. And the entire day, despite all the stress it took to get there was extremely beautiful and now Diary, I feel for more chocolate so i have go to find some. XOXO, Nana Yaa Recipe for love 39 |
