TIS Magazine 2020

You’ve come really far into this ride, but, believe me, when I say, you haven’t seen anything yet. Tighten your seatbelt passenger, we’re at the junction leading to TIS’s 16th annual school play. Lights, cameras, action! You might think after 15 consecutive years of directing plays, the school would have lost its touch. After all, a play can’t be as good as the best, students graduate, and amazing actors or actresses are lost. That’s where you’re completely wrong. The Adaptation of The Marriage Of An- ansewa wasn’t just yet another school play. It blew my mind more than I could ever imagine. It’s quite funny because as part of the crew, I had seen the play more times that I could count. However, the spirit which engulfed the complete- ly transformed MPH on the two days of portrayal was beyond my comprehen- sion. Look outside the rolled window. It’s the magic hour when the sun dyes ev- erything gold and you can catch a whiff of rain in the breeze that zooms past. On the two days, the play was performed, everyone experienced that magic hour where the sun was the lights, where the gold was the cast and ensemble and that breeze, that breeze was the spirit of ex- citement, of anticipation and at the very end of the play, the spirit of immense sat- isfaction and pride. I repeat, it wasn’t just another school play. It was an embodiment of the hard work of our TIS family A beautiful play. Roll the windows up, on to the next stop! -Vanessa Addofoly Lights, cameras, action! | 32
