The black majority of apartheid South Africa has constantly been subjected to racism and oppression by the white minority government. They suffered for too long, and were hungry for freedom from the oppressor. Starting from making the
language of Afrikaans the official language in her school, Sarafina leads a revolt against the brutal and barbaric rule of a government that has a history of vicious armed repression.
She fights to prevent her country’s future from being under sieged by an army called silence and intimidation. She fights for FREEDOM.
