Acadia Miles-Darko, Tiffany Forson, Malick Cisse and Kevin Owusu-Afriyie are the initiators of One Bite Zero Hunger Community Project. With the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No 2 at the back of their minds, they wish to contribute their quota to make their community a better place. According to the UN, SDG No2 is designed to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.
In view of this, the team has located the environs of TIS and identified squatters that may not be able to afford a two-square meal in a day.
They are, therefore, appealing to the school community, especially our dear parents, to drop by non- perishable goods for donation. In addition, they will organise a game and popcorn night to raise funds to purchase toiletries. Their goal is to give each household a 50kg goody bag that can sustain a family for a few weeks.
All students who would like to donate as we prepare to go for mid-terms can do so through the team in the various hostels. Thank you in advance for giving.
The team is reaching out to all members of the TIS community to support their cause and put a smile on the face of the many families that go to bed hungry.
