A team of 5 members of staff (Mr. Akortah, Mr. Djongor, Ms. Grace, Dr. Ken Darvall & Mrs. King) participated in a 2 day workshop with IB schools from Ghana and Nigeria, organized by NXplorer in collaboration with the IB Regional Development Manager Africa. The aim of the NXplorer programme was to equip young people, ages 12 -19, with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to:
EXPLORE – Explore complex issues, particularly the food, energy, water nexus using a variety of thinking tools and strategies.
CREATE – Imagine different futures using scenario planning tools.
CHANGE – Plan for, and enact positive change using theory of change methodologies.
“To affect change tomorrow we need to empower young people today.” On that note we will start a pilot program with the members of the Junior Community Service Club (Grade 7, 8, 9 & IB1). We look forward to equipping our young students to think about important issues and take actions to make things better.
