TIS is home to many universities, and we were thrilled to have these US schools in attendance to dissect the holistic university application process with students and personally interact with them. SUNY Oswego, Ohio University, Pepperdine University, Indiana University Indianapolis and NYUAD, once again, thank you for coming!
A big thank you to Madam Frances Gadzekpo a TIS parent for attending the fair.

The university fair was an insightful experience that provided valuable information on the schools invited and the college application process, particularly in writing college essays. Speaking with representatives from Ohio University, NYU Abu Dhabi, Pepperdine, and others, I gained information on how to highlight my unique experiences and aspirations in a way that resonates with admissions officers. The personalised advice on structuring essays, conveying authenticity, and aligning my goals with each school’s values gave me a better understanding of how to approach my applications. This has motivated me to refine my essays and approach the process more confidently. Kayla Searyoh, DP2
The university fair yesterday was an insightful session. Although I stayed for an hour, I obtained a deeper understanding of the process of applying to American schools and the main requirements of each school. Admissions officers gave me tips on the College and Supplementary Essays and what other admissions officers look out for. Thanks to that, I plan to change my college and supplementary essays to increase my chances of getting into my dream school. Nana Yaa Arthur, DP2
Attending the fair at my school, each representative provided valuable insights into the institution’s requirements, application deadlines, financial aid, and campus life. I had the opportunity to personally interact with the university reps and ask questions, which helped me better understand the admissions process and what they look for in prospective students. One of my key takeaways was learning that a strong SAT score can significantly boost scholarship offers, especially in schools like Ohio University. This information was eye- opening, highlighting the importance of standardised tests beyond admissions. I discovered that achieving around 40 IB points would be a strong safety net for entry into highly competitive schools like NYU Abu Dhabi. This knowledge has motivated me to continue striving for academic excellence. The fair also provided clarity on other factors like the importance of extracurricular activities, personal essays, and recommendations in shaping a well-rounded application. Overall, the fair has also eased some of my concerns, knowing that there are various opportunities for financial aid and scholarships. Paa Kwesi Dennis, DP2

Fortunately, an admissions officer came because she gave me tips on the College and Supplementary Essays and what other admissions officers look out for.
