TIS @ 19 Anniversary week was indeed a refreshing and fun time. The wonderful week ended with a special and uplifting Founder’s Week Thanksgiving Service on Sunday 9 October. We are grateful to God for His faithfulness in bringing TIS this far. Our sincere thanks go to the Co-Founder, founding family, management, staff, the Masoperhs, Dr. Odame (former Chaplain), students of TIS and all who contributed to the successful church service. Special thanks to our guest Preacher Pastor, Nii Okai, for his powerful, inspiring, life- transforming word. Many blessings! We were also blessed and pleasantly surprised to have Koda- a Christian Musical artist – gracing our service with his presence and ministration. Our hearts are overflowing with thanksgiving! ~Mr. Gyasi (TIS Chaplain)

Here are a few reflections.

“I was in awe, when I deeply reflected on the short exhortation by Minister, Nii Okai, titled Your Dreams are Valid. Hearing this message from various ministers juxtaposing it with the story of Joseph in the Bible his revelation and application of knowledge on values was profound.

Thus, each and everyone has a divine purpose and assignment. Knowing Jesus as our Lord and personal saviour is the beginning and understanding of ourselves and our mandate. With dreams and aspiration. Everyone has a dream to fulfil but if you do not put in the work: studying, being committed to your goal or purpose, applying due diligence, having ethical boundaries and checks etc. You will not succeed. However, the crux of the matter is being intentional about our values. What we hold in high esteem: integrity, morality, character development and our faith in the word of God must be our guiding principle. Day in day out regardless of life’s unsurmountable challenges and what life throws at us, there is no need for bitterness, premature exposure, unhealthy and unnecessary competition and complacency. They hinder us from achieving our goals. Yes, the dream is valid but to seal the deal of success you must develop strong moral and ethical values in order for you to be successful and sustainable at the TOP! The choice is ours. Choose to develop character, unshakable faith in God and self-competition in order to be a better version of yourself as a child of God in a higher or strategic position. Then you will become a blessing and not an abuser or as someone who embezzles funds or resources for their personal gains. The change starts with YOU! “Sunday’s church service was a blissful moment to behold and I felt very blessed when the service was over even though I was late. I personally feel like the message was very timely and I needed encouragement to pursue my biggest dreams and listen to only who God calls me to be and not be discouraged by what people say or my situation. I learnt that like Joseph, even if I am in a situation that requires humans to forget about me not the Lord, I will still seek Him because all other things will be added unto me in due time. The atmosphere of the praise and worship session was spirit-filled and I loved the surprise of worshipping the Lord with a powerful man of God like Koda. I hope that next church services continue to be graced by the presence of the Lord like this one and I will like to end this reflection by reminding everyone that “…all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose”. “On the 9 October, we had a wonderful church service led by pastor, Nii Okai. It was a privilege to have him in school for the second time last week. In his sermon, he touched on dreams and expectations. He began by singing a quite famous song titled” dream” in teaching about dreams, he took us through what hinders them and what fosters them. Sometimes, we ourselves hinder our dreams. Our emotions can get the best of us. He gave an example of Joseph and his brothers. All Joseph’s brothers had the gift of interpretation but because of their jealousy, they failed to unlock that gift. Thus we need to foster our dreams”. ~Karen Magna Quarshie, DP2

Thanksgiving Service was one memorable church service. The message was well communicated, and it indeed elevated me to strive higher and believe God will take me through the hardships. I pray God takes TIS to higher heights and overtime with faith my dream will be unfolded, just like how 19 years ago, the dream the TIS founders had unfolded with grace. Amen. ~Maame Ama Osei, DP 2

To cap off an incredible Founders’ week, we held a special thanksgiving ceremony. During this service we were able to reflect on how God has allowed TIS to birth students with wonderful testimonials in academics, teachings and tools that we would need to be successful in the future. Opening a school is a difficult task, and keeping it open for work 19 years and counting may seem impossible to some. TIS has open been around for so long by the grace of GOD. TIS has taught me many essential principles and how to stand firm in our views, as me and other students can confirm. Finally we heard an incredible sermon by Nii Okai, a musical star and preacher. During his sermon he discussed dreams, what they imply, and how we might achieve our ambitions. One of the key things that grabbed my attention to was the fact that in order to reach my dream I must be consistent and work hard. Then Kodah surprised us with a surprise performance to finish off such an amazing week and church service. ~Ogechuku Moghalu DP2
