New year, new semester and new goals mean preparations aplenty. This has been the recipe for success and a pace-setting strategy for learners.
The PYP and MYP Educators established their understanding of the IB continuum with a workshop to prepare students to be concept-driven learners. The preparation saw collegial and collaborative efforts among teachers to maintain a smooth transition from PYP to MYP through quality international education.
Teachers were exposed to various theories and philosophies of the IB PYP that will help them integrate learning activities and authentic assessments and develop lifelong concept-driven learners.
On the other hand, students have excellent self-management skills in their repertoire, a critical quality that qualifies our learners as balanced.
Learners were filled with excitement upon their arrival on campus.
Student-Teacher and peer collaborations were a hallmark on campus, and the narrative looks impressive this semester; Students worked together and with teachers to ensure cordial preparations for the semester.
Learners set their sights on higher expectations for the semester, with most of them spotted working with the “SMART” acronym to guide them in developing their goals, working to meet the plans, and evaluating them.
Teachers employ this strategy to help students reflect and build on their development -a learner- centered approach.
Our newbies were filled with excitement over their new environment and different learning approach that will assist them in their quest to become global learners. Our older students displayed extraordinary social skills to socialize and collaborate with the newbies. It has been a busy first week for all; expectations set and plenty of forward momentum for the power-packed semester.
