The Community Project allows student to take their learning outside the four walls of the classroom and learn to become responsible citizens of the community around them and beyond. One of the community Projects by Grade 8 students titled, “TaekwonDO it”, initiated by Eugene Cobbinah, Winston Mwindare & Emmanuel Essel is one such authentic learning.
These young learners are sharing their knowledge in Taekwando with Calvary Presby School, a local school near our Main Campus. They are raising funds to pay an instructor and are yet to receive uniform donations from their grade mates who are willing to give out their uniforms.
In order to get interested participants from Calvary Presby, they visited the school last week to perform a demo and educate them about the basics and importance of Taekwondo. They got 16 passionate individuals which was reduced to 10 participants. Supervised by Mr. Alex Tay, the participants from Calvary Presby will come for practice in TIS every Monday and Friday from 4:00pm – 5:30pm towards their big performance on 6 March at the opening for the Project Day Exhibition.
