The Interact Club of Tema International School was officially chartered last Friday. It was a night of inspiring speeches and a fundraiser towards the incubator project. Rotarians, Rotractors, the Rotary Club of Legon – our Mother club, parents, invited schools such as GIS and Deks, and LittleBigSouls, Ghana – our partner NGO, were present to witness the night and support the great course.
Ana Maria was the first Charter President. She inspired us with her speech and called to action to support the Maternity ward of TGH, to create awareness for premature babies.
A big thank you to the TIS community for the great support, to the parents of the Interact Club Members we are grateful to you. To all sponsors CocaCola, Marinos Intertrade Ltd, Shop Rite, ZigZag Accessories, Whiteleys a huge thank you for your kind donations. A special thank you to the TIS Pop Band for the amazing performance.
Through the auction, raffle, ticket sales and donations, the club was able to raise the amount of GHC 19,082.00 (profit). The incubator costs GHC 60.000. However we were approached by 3M & C Hospital and Laboratories who were very touched by our students’ initiative and they offered a great discount as their contribution.
There will be a number of activities throughout the semester to raise the balance needed to purchase the incubator. On behalf of our students we humbly ask for your support in kind or cash towards this cause. You can contact Mrs. Surama King – surama.king@tis.edu.gh / +233244615255 for more details.
Come on board with us to touch lives and save premature babies. Together we can make our world a better place.
Every breath Counts!
