Last Saturday saw 10 new records set as students competed in our annual athletics carnival. There were some great performances across track and field events. Sedo Sezan and Gabriella Manu won the double, each setting new records for their 100m age group, as well as the Boys and Girls Champion of Champions event. Sedo was pushed all the way by Ivan Katey, Darin Sarpong and Alhaji Douda.
The outstanding athlete on the day was Mame Ama Benyarko, our newly-elected Sports Executive. Abena Okai and Yanmife Fajemirokun were two other stars on the day.
New records were established by:
• Nanaa Larbi: open girls 100m (15.08)
• Sedo Sezan: open boys 100m (11.77); boys champion of champions 100m (11.84)
• Gabriella Manu: U17 girls 100m (14.96); girls champion of champions 100m (14.43)
• Alhaji Douda: open boys 400m (48.71); open boys long jump (4.76m)
• Shanda Otchere: open girls discus (23.10m)
• Hannibal Richter-Addo: open boys discus (32.23m)
• Maame Ama Benyarko: open girls long jump (3.92m).
