On 14 March 2017, we went to Calvary Basic School and my group planted seeds with the Calvary Students. It was very fun. I made a friend named Dinah. She is my partner for our project. The Calvary students are very fun to be with. I planted cabbage and she planted carrots. At the end of the trip we handed over our plants to the Calvary students for them to take care of. Today, we went to pay the Calvary students a visit for almost two hours. I met this girl named Rachel, and she’s very nice and we have few things in common. I especially like how she was so helpful, quiet, humble and content. She appreciated everything she had when I’m sort of the opposite of that. She even laughed at some mistakes I had made but I didn’t really care because I also found my mistakes funny. My favorite thing about her was that she didn’t doubt, or give up on herself. I remember when I asked if she wanted to draw she didn’t say ‘yes’ or ‘no’. She just said “I’ll try my best”. We got two letters from the alphabet which we were B and M. We kept asking Yvette and Keisha for an eraser because of all mistakes. Rachel did ‘B’ and I did ‘M’. The ‘M’ stood for Maple. I made it so colorful and it was covered in so many different patterns. We laughed like we knew each other for a while now when we were the same people who were nervous to even talk to each other. I would definitely like to come back there to see my new friend, Rachel again. (Maame Darkwaa Afranie Adjei)
Today we went to Calvary and we were divided into two groups and I was in the group which planted seeds. It was actually very fun and nice too. It was the first time I asked somebody for their name. We selected seeds of our choice and planted them. We watered the seeds and took a group picture, Then we did our own little ceremony by handing the yet to grow seeds to the friend we made at Calvary. My friends (Agnes and Doris) and I were very excited to have them. I hope to see little plants growing from the pot the next time we go there. (Deborah Gomado)
I really enjoyed today’s visit at Calvary. I made so many new friends and today they all really interacted with us. I made a new friend called Kate whilst we were planting and I made a lot of friends. They were all very happy to plant and seemed quite interested and intrigued. I had a lot of fun and can’t wait to see my friend, the Calvary students and my grown plant. Kate and I planted radish and cauliflower. When planting, I learnt tolerance, patience and communication. That’s everything I need for my successful plant. If my partner does her part, the plant will turn out beautifully. Overall, I’m looking forward to our next visit. (Nina Arkaah)
In Calvary, I sat with a friend called Godfred. He was 15 years of age. He was tall. He was a Ga. We got the alphabets J and U. He drew an umbrella and I drew a jug
