About the Book
As the author of Outburst, I believe it is essential for not only persons that have lost someone to pick up my book, but also for young adults who are now growing up and making sense of the realities of life. I believe that picking up my book not only pushes the folk of my generation to read more, but also urges the creatives among them to stand up and make a huge difference in the world with their unique talents. I believe that Outburst is a constant reminder to my generation to never forget or take for granted their voices, intelligence and creativity. It is also a strong reminder that anyone regardless of age is never too young or old to follow his or her dreams and aspirations in life. Outburst is also supposed to serve as a sense of light, for regardless the nature of the journey, there is always, always a way out of the tunnel.
”Akosua’s brilliant volume of poems echoes the despair and hope of thousands of young people silently struggling to make sense of the stark realities of life.” –Audrey Gadzekpo, University of Ghana
Akosua launched Outburst on December 23, 2016, at Lifeforms at Labone and it is now for sale. Copies can be purchased on Amazon, Lifeforms and by contacting the author on atuahakosua@gmail.com.
