Like all CAS involvement, CAS projects allow for leaning through experience. Participating in a project provides opportunities to increases self-awareness, promotes open–mindedness and interpersonal understanding and can facilitate decision-making and problem-solving skills. Additionally, as the CAS project requires collaboration, it also promotes communication skills, requiring the learner to be involved in negotiation, agreements and consensus. Involvement in a CAS project, such as a school production provides an opportunity for shared learning.

- Working closely with others exposes to other perspectives and points of view, to engage in discussion that can facilitate critical reflection, and develop conflict resolution and listening skills.

Another great aspect of such projects is the unlimited possibilities for collaboration across the curriculum. A production such as the one we are staging in a weeks’ time is a collaboration between the Arts and CAS, subjects such as music, visual arts, design, mathematics and English all come to play in making learning meaningful and fun for each one involved.
This week MYP students were committed in producing a number of props for the play. Graded 9 and 10 tried different technics to depict the beauty of a galaxy in a back drop for the stage. DP students are taking the lead as directors, cast and crew. Such opportunities boost self-stem, foster communication, allow students to try new things and have fun. Learning is taking place as students engage in different aspects of the production, from creating the script, concepts, acting, singing, dancing, playing an instrument, leading, organizing, designing, and coordinating
