“The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people”. “We are at every point of our day immersed in cultural diversity: faces, clothes, smells, attitudes, values, traditions, behaviours, beliefs, and rituals (Randa Abdel-Fattah).” Against this backdrop, we teach our students (by example) that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength. Going by Wade Davis’ observation, we teach them to understand that “The world in which they were born is just one model of reality; that other cultures are not failed attempts at being like theirs, but instead, they are unique manifestations of the human spirit.”
This is how we celebrate and embrace each other’s culture, here at TIS: one happy family which is conscious of the fact that sometimes ‘strength lies more in differences than in similarities’. HAPPY INTERNATIONAL AND CULTURAL DAY!!!
